SUCCESS

"To laugh often & much;
to win the respect of intelligent people & the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of critics & endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty,to find the best in others;
to see what is small as it sees itself,
and accept what is weak for the strength it has,
and use what is dim for the light it gives;
to leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch
or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier beacuse you have lived..
This is to have SUCCEEDED..."

Ahh!the longest definition for a word we all live and die for.no?
God knows who came up with this..but seems like he/she spent his/her entire life defining the word for the rest of us rather than actually succeeding.!!.atleast now our work is half done..specially the "healthy child" part made me feel all khush n achievable..hehe
on a serious note..this blog has been full of "oh gosh! this gurl is suicidal" posts/poems/lifted quotes so far..but i promise it wil get funny in a bit..or in the least..leave u thinking..unless it hasnt already??

HI there!

Did you get that from Google? Lovely passage. ( Although I think a little bit of success also comes when you feel that you've done your best, but nevr mind)

Bring on the funny stuff, woman!

Aint it ironical that you're stating the lifted quotes part after a whole lifted composition? :P

But whoever has written is has done a good job out of it, so reminiscent of "jeena isi ka naam hai", something that lifts your spirits like nothing else..

Good to imagine something other than death here, maybe a change of colour to something brighter would go well with that...

Sorry for this but I have to point out that typo which says streangth!!

Write On!

all day long i think of things.. said...

hmmm.. profound.. but not all encompassing.. succes for me is the experience of happiness on fulfillment.. thats all.. apply it anywhere and itll work.. birth..life.. death.. completion.. anything..

wats this life if full of care...
we have no time to stand and stare...

maybe...the contentment and satisfaction of achieving small things defines success for the poet....but then...quitters never win..and winners never quit...for me thats success.....

gr8 job though pri...kepp up the good work....
